ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS (AHAs)
Derived from various plant sources Glycolic Acid is the most active and beneficial of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). AHAs gently loosen the glue-like substance that hold dead cells to the skin without removing the skin’s moisture barrier, revealing fresher, more radiant looking skin. With consistent use, AHAs work beneath the skin's surface to lighten pigmentation caused by sun damage and stimulate collagen production. By increasing collagen production skin becomes firmer and fine lines and wrinkles less visible, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

VITAMIN C
Is an essential ingredient needed to produce collagen in the skin. Its powerful antioxidant action helps prevent free radical damage caused by ultra-violet light and environmental pollutants, resulting in reduced skin pigmentation and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 

VITAMIN K
Shown to help in the reduction of dark circles and puffiness in the eye area. Vitamin K is also known for its ability to assist with wound healing. 

CERAMIDES
Are natural lipids (fats) and a major component of skin structure. These fats allow skin to retain moisture and work to repair the moisture barrier of dehydrated, ageing and sun-damaged skin. 

VITAMIN A (Retinyl Palmitate)
Assists in skin rejuvenation by stimulating new collagen and improving skin elasticity, texture and firmness. This antioxidant assists in the reduction of blocked pores and pigmentation, resulting in improved skin radiance.

CoQ10 (CoEnzyme Q10)
Contains exceptional antioxidant properties to maintain vibrant looking skin and reduce the signs of ageing. CoQ10 can help repair damaged cells, counteract free radical damage and assist with the production of collagen and elastin. 

GREEN TEA
Is naturally rich in antioxidants to help protect the skin from free radical damage. Green tea will not dry or irritate the skin and provides excellent anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

SALICYLIC ACID (Willowbark)
Has the ability to penetrate and exfoliate inside the pores, as well as on the surface of the skin, making it effective for reducing blemishes and clarifying the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.

PYCNOGENOL
Pycnogenol is a potent antioxidant, more powerful than Vitamin C. Extracted from Marine Pine Bark, this naturally occurring antioxidant helps protect the skin from free radical damage, promoting healthier, more youthful-looking skin.

LACTIC ACID

A naturally occurring AHA (related to Glycolic Acid, although less active), found in milk and honey. Lactic Acid is an effective exfoliant with powerful moisturising properties.

ALOE VERA

Renowned for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, Aloe Vera is commonly used to assist with healing.

ZINC OXIDE

An effective sunscreen whereby particles have been reduced to ensure a translucent coverage.

SWEET ALMOND OIL

Emollient oil extracted from the nut of the sweet almond tree.  Sweet almond oil is known for its many skin benefits. While suitable for all skin types, sweet almond oil is particularly effective for dry skin that is prone to irritation. The oil is light, moisturizing and easily absorbed.

What is a cosmeceutical?

The term cosmeceutical is used to describe a product that combines features of both a cosmetic and a pharmaceutical. ASAP’s cosmeceutical range is based on the use of active ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and antioxidants to provide simple skin care that has fast-acting visible results.

Are ASAP products tested on animals?

ASAP is opposed to the testing of skin care products on animals. ASAP Skin Products are tested on human volunteers only!

Are ASAP products suitable for sensitive skin?

Whilst a number of clients with Rosacea or sensitive skin love the results they have achieved using ASAP products, what works for one, may not always work for another. For this reason, we always recommend customers visit a trained ASAP skin care professional who can correctly analyse and recommend the most appropriate combination of products for their skin.

Is ASAP suitable for all ages?

ASAP offers scientifically proven skin care solutions for women and men of all ages with varying skin types and conditions. The range is particularly beneficial for difficult skin types such as sun-damaged, ageing and acne-prone skin

How long before I see results from using ASAP products?

Benefits should be seen almost immediately. Your skin will feel smoother and look clearer. Your skin may tingle when you first begin using the products – this is perfectly normal with products containing fruit acid. Initially, your skin may feel a little dryer and flaky, as the dead skin cells begin to slough away and fresh skin cells come to the surface. This will subside as your skin adapts to the products and the thick layer of dead skin cells is reduced.

Why is there no toner in the ASAP range?

Most toners are solvents containing alcohol which remove natural oils from the skin. This can result in skin feeling tight. To correct this unpleasant feeling, it is necessary to put oil back in the skin in the form of a moisturiser. By not using a toner, the body’s natural oils are not removed in the first place. The suggestion that toners can shrink the pores is incorrect.

Toners were originally designed to help remove the oil residue left on the skin from cream based cleansers. Most scientifically based skin care ranges containing a correctly designed cleanser and exfoliating scrub can achieve excellent results without the excessive drying effect of a toner.
