Moisture Defence Dry Skin

Regular use of a suitable moisturiser benefits your skin.  The moisturiser not only replaces the water lost from the skin but also prevents its loss to the surroundings.  It protects the skin against the drying influences of the environment such as the effects of the sun, cold and heat.

Like other organs in your body, your skin requires moisture as well as vitamins and minerals to keep it healthy and functioning properly.  Moisture is critical for healthy skin; much of the moisture you need comes from within your body chemistry.  Moisturisers do not moisturise, they smooth and soften your skin.  Good moisturisers, containing light oils and moisture-binding humectants, create a protective barrier for your skin thus keeping moisture in the outermost layer without clogging pores.  The skin’s moisturising requirements differs for each skin type and it is for this reason that Skinstitut offers three moisturisers to cater for all skin types.

Key Active Ingredients:

• 3.5% Synthetic Snake Venom (SNY®-AKE), Synthetic Tripeptide that mimics the effect of peptide found in the venom of the snake Temple Viper.  The active part of the compound is Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate. This material is very effective against the appearance of mimic wrinkles: by temporary immobilisation of the facial contractions it smoothes out the appearance of mimic wrinkles and skin becomes more natural, younger and relaxed.  It also reduces the appearance of wrinkle depth and size.

• Purisoft; which is a natural peptide that possesses a dual activity: protection of skin against aggression by pollutant; purification of the skin by removing micro-particles coming from the environment.

• Kakadu Plum Extract (extract from the fruit of native tree Terminalia Ferdinandiana).  Fruit contains up to 4% Ascorbic Acid making it world’s richest source of Vitamin C that is very stable due to stabilisation by enzymatic system present in it.  Vitamin C acts as a free radical scavenger, protects the skin from photo ageing, prevents irritation and acts as lightening agent.  The extract is also rich in different minerals, amino acids, fruit acids and antioxidants.

• Canadian Willowherb (extract from the plant Epilobium Angustifolium); natural skin calming agent; excellent anti irritant; has very good free radical absorbing ability; very good anti microbial activity.

• Cosmoperine; a patented natural permeation enhancer from Black Pepper.

• VitalHyal (hyaluronic Acid Sodium Salt) shows all properties of pure Hyaluronic Acid; capability of binding water within its structure, formation of visco-elastic film on the skin surface, thus increasing lubricity, and smoothness on the surface of the skin, and providing excellent moisturisation.

• Covitol 1100 (DL-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate); Vitamin E derivative has the same attribute as pure Vitamin E – acts as antioxidant, protecting skin from free radical damage and thus reducing the appearance of premature ageing.

• Trehalose and Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein (trade name Trealix) is combination of actives from mushrooms and vegetable materials.  It possesses excellent moisturising ability by linking more water to the skin cells.

• Ethoxydiglycol (trade name Transcutol P); a very good solubiliser and penetrating agent and carrier for AHA.

• Desert harvest (mixed extract from fruits of 3 plants): Quandong (Santalum Acuminatum); Desert lime (Citrus Glanca); Wattle seed (Acacia Victoriae). These plants have developed excellent protective mechanism to be able to withstand harsh dry climate and extreme temperatures in Australian desert. Fruits contain a lot of minerals, fruit sugars, phytosterols, vitamins, fruit acids preserved in them and ready available when processed with suitable vehicle. The antioxidants present in fruits protect against the environment and help prevent appearance of ageing.

• Photonyl; complex of natural cyto-chromophores (aromatic amino acids, derivatives and nucleotides). This complex acts as cyto-immuno photo protector, containing no UV filters, but with broad spectrum activity. The function is to protect against early skin ageing, photooxidation (damage caused by free radicals produced by UV radiation).

• Edelweiss (extract from flowers of Leontopodium Alpinum).  Plant, growing on high altitude (strong UV radiation, extreme temperature and humidity changes) has developed protective mechanism very useful in skin protection. Extract has high performance antioxidant and radical-scavenging properties.  Overall, the extract has excellent anti-ageing properties.

• Ederline (extract of Pirus Malus (Apple) fruit in Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride).  It acts rapidly on decreasing the appearance of skin wrinkles, as well as increasing firmness and reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

• Crambe Abyssinica; oil from the seeds of a plant.  It contains over 40% of C22 fatty acids thus providing excellent moisturisation and lubricity to the skin, without greasy feel (penetrates quickly through the skin).
